A buyer says the enquiry form did not work
The messages a member of the public can see on a listing page's enquiry form, and what each one means.
If a buyer tells you the form on a listing page would not send, ask what the page said and find it here.
No way to reply was given
You see: Please enter an email address or a phone number, so the agent can reply.
Why: The form needs a name and at least one way to reach the person.
- Step 1: The buyer adds an email address or a phone number and sends again.
The phone number was not accepted
You see: That phone number does not look right. Please check it.
Why: The number was too short, too long, or had letters in it.
- Step 1: The buyer types the number again, digits only.
The property has sold
You see: This property has sold. Enquiries are closed.
Why: The listing is marked sold, so the form has been taken off the page.
- Step 1: Nothing to fix. If the property has not sold, correct its status where the listing comes from.
Too many enquiries at once
You see: This form has had a lot of enquiries just now. Please try again later, or contact the agency directly.
Why: To keep spam out, each listing's form takes a limited number of enquiries an hour and a day.
- Step 1: The buyer tries again later, or rings you.
- Step 2: If this is happening on a popular listing, tell us.
The page was open a long time
You see: This form is out of date. Please reload the page and try again.
Why: The page was left open and the listing has changed since.
- Step 1: The buyer reloads the page and sends again.
The enquiry could not be sent
You see: Your enquiry could not be sent. Please try again, or contact the agency directly.
Why: A fault at our end while saving the enquiry.
- Step 1: The buyer tries again.
- Step 2: If it keeps happening, contact support with the listing's address.
The listing has gone
You see: This listing is no longer available.
Why: The listing was deleted or its public page was turned off while the buyer had it open.
- Step 1: Check whether the public page should be on. See The public page for each listing.
