What Autopilot will never do, and why it left a post for you

Autopilot is built to hold back whenever a person should look. This is the full list of when it does.

The Autopilot screen lists every decision under What it has done. Each line says either Approved, with the time the post goes out, or Left for you, with the reason.

It never approves

  • A post you or a teammate wrote. Only posts ListingMate drafted.
  • A post for a listing that still needs a person to check its details.
  • A post for a listing whose address is hidden.
  • A post with no photo or no caption.
  • A post with a video, or one whose video is still being made. You watch every video before it goes out.
  • A post for a listing that has sold or come off the market.
  • A post for today. The earliest is tomorrow.
  • A sold, under offer, price change, testimonial or settlement post.

Reasons you might read in the list

The daily limit was reached

You see: The daily cap for Autopilot is reached.

Why: Autopilot had already approved as many posts as your Daily limit allows for that day.

  1. Step 1: Approve the post yourself on Approvals, or raise the Daily limit and press Save changes.

No posting time was free

You see: No free posting time in the next week.

Why: Every one of your posting times for the next seven days already has a post in it.

  1. Step 1: Add more times under Posting times and press Save changes, or approve the post yourself and choose its time.

The open home was too close

You see: No free time before the open home.

Why: An open home post has to go out by the day before the inspection, and there was no free posting time before then.

  1. Step 1: Approve it yourself on Approvals straight away. It is marked overdue if its time has passed and publishes within minutes of your tick.

That kind of post is not ticked

You see: This stage is not set to go out automatically.

Why: The post's kind is not ticked under Which posts.

  1. Step 1: Approve it yourself, or tick that kind and press Save changes.

The listing needs checking

You see: The listing needs a person to review it.

Why: The listing came in with details ListingMate was not sure of.

  1. Step 1: Open the listing from Listings, check its details, then approve the post yourself.

The address is hidden

You see: The listing's address is withheld.

Why: A listing with a hidden address is always left to a person, so nothing gives the address away by accident.

  1. Step 1: Read the post carefully on Approvals and approve it yourself if it is right.

The plan could not be checked

You see: We could not check the plan, so this was left for a person.

Why: A brief fault at our end. When in doubt, Autopilot does nothing.

  1. Step 1: Approve the post yourself. Autopilot carries on by itself next time.
