Turn a review into a post

Save the kind words people send you. Each week ListingMate can draft one as a post, word for word, for you to approve.

Add a review

  1. Step 1: Open Reviews. On a computer it is in the left menu under Workflow. On a phone, tap More, then Reviews.
  2. Step 2: Under Add a review, type the person's name in Their name.
  3. Step 3: Type or paste their words into What they said. It needs to be between 20 and 400 characters.
  4. Step 4: Choose a Rating, or leave it at No rating.
  5. Step 5: Tick This person agreed to their words and name being shared.
  6. Step 6: Press Save review.

Warning: Only add a review if the person has said yes to it being shared with their name. ListingMate posts their words exactly as you type them. Nothing is reworded, and a review cannot be edited after it is saved.

Make them go out

Saving a review does not post it. Reviews go out through weekly posts, at most one a week. Open Weekly posts, tick Review and turn weekly posts on. The line at the top of Reviews tells you whether reviews are going out.

Reviews are used oldest first. The one marked Next to go out is next. Once a review has been drafted as a post it moves to the drafted group. Press Use again to put it back in the queue, or Archive to retire it.

Messages you might see

The review is too short or too long

You see: The review must be between 20 and 400 characters.

Why: A review has to be long enough to say something and short enough to fit on the image.

  1. Step 1: Shorten it to the part that matters most, keeping the person's own words.

The permission box is not ticked

You see: Tick the box to confirm this person agreed to their words and name being shared.

Why: A review cannot be saved without it.

  1. Step 1: If they agreed, tick the box. If you are not sure, ask them first.

There is a long dash in it

You see: Replace the long dash with a comma or a full stop, then save again.

Why: Long dashes are not allowed in posts, and ListingMate will not change a person's words for you.

  1. Step 1: Swap the dash for a comma or a full stop and press Save review.

There is a link or an email address in it

You see: A review cannot contain a web address or an email address.

Why: Links and email addresses are not allowed inside a review.

  1. Step 1: Remove it and save again.

You have saved too many

You see: You have 200 reviews saved. Archive some before adding more.

Why: The list holds 200 reviews that are waiting or drafted.

  1. Step 1: Press Archive on reviews you no longer need.

Reviews are saved but none are going out

You see: Your reviews are saved but none will be posted yet.

Why: Weekly posts are off, or the Review kind is not ticked.

  1. Step 1: Press Turn on Review in Weekly posts beside the message and follow Weekly posts.
