Edit a post's words or the time it goes out

Change the caption, the go-live time, or both, before a post is published.

You can edit a post any time before it is published: while it is waiting on Approvals, and after you have approved it, from the listing's own page.

  1. Step 1: Find the post on Approvals, or open the listing from Listings and find it there.
  2. Step 2: Tap Edit.
  3. Step 3: Change the words under Caption.
  4. Step 4: To change when it goes out, set a new date and time under Go-live time.
  5. Step 5: Tap Save changes.

Note: Editing does not approve the post. A post you edit on Approvals still needs your tick.

Messages you might see

The caption is empty

You see: Caption can't be empty.

Why: Every post needs some words.

  1. Step 1: Type a caption, then tap Save changes.

The time is in the past

You see: Pick a time in the future. A post dated in the past publishes as soon as it's approved.

Why: The date and time you chose has already gone.

  1. Step 1: Choose a later date or time, then tap Save changes.

The date is not a real date

You see: That date isn't valid.

Why: The date field was left part filled, for example a day with no time.

  1. Step 1: Fill in the whole date and time, then tap Save changes.

The time could not be read reliably

You see: That time is missing a timezone, so it can't be scheduled reliably. Reload the page and try again.

Why: The page had been open for a long time and lost track of your agency's time zone.

  1. Step 1: Reload the page.
  2. Step 2: Make the edit again.

The post has already gone out

You see: That post can't be edited, it may have already published.

Why: The post was published, or cancelled, while the edit box was open.

  1. Step 1: Reload the page to see where the post is now.
  2. Step 2: A published post cannot be changed from ListingMate. Edit the caption in Facebook or Instagram directly.

The post is going out this second

You see: This post is publishing right now. Wait a moment, it'll show as published or need attention.

Why: ListingMate is in the middle of sending it to Facebook and Instagram.

  1. Step 1: Wait a minute and reload the page.
