Cancel or delete a post

Stop a post from going out. A cancelled post is kept as a record, and a deleted one is removed.

Cancel a post

Cancelling stops the post from publishing and keeps it on the listing's page under Cancelled, so you can see what was planned.

  1. Step 1: Open Listings and tap the listing, or open Calendar and tap the day.
  2. Step 2: On the post, tap Cancel post. On a phone, on the listing's page, the button says Cancel.
  3. Step 3: A message confirms the post will not publish.

A post still waiting on Approvals is cancelled with Skip.

Delete a post

  1. Step 1: Open Listings and tap the listing.
  2. Step 2: On the post, tap Delete.
  3. Step 3: ListingMate asks Delete this post? and names the post and its date. Tap Delete post to remove it, or Keep post to leave it as it is.
  4. Step 4: A message confirms the post was deleted.

Warning: Deleting removes the post from ListingMate for good. You are asked to confirm first, and once you do there is no undo. If you only want to stop it going out, cancel it instead.

Messages you might see

You tried to delete a published post

You see: Published posts can't be deleted, they're a record of what went out.

Why: ListingMate keeps every published post as a record. Deleting it here would not remove it from Facebook or Instagram anyway.

  1. Step 1: To take a post down, delete it in Facebook and in Instagram. Use the View on Facebook and View on Instagram links on the post to find it.

The post had already gone out

You see: That post can't be cancelled, it may have already published.

Why: It was published before you cancelled it.

  1. Step 1: Reload the page. If it is under Published, take it down in Facebook and Instagram.

The post is going out this second

You see: This post is publishing right now. Wait a moment, it'll show as published or need attention.

Why: ListingMate is in the middle of sending it.

  1. Step 1: Wait a minute and reload the page.
