Connecting Facebook did not work
Every message you can see after pressing Connect with Facebook, what caused it and what to do.
When Facebook sends you back to ListingMate, a line at the top of Connections says what happened. Find your message below.
You closed the Facebook window or pressed Cancel
You see: Facebook connection was cancelled.
Why: Facebook was told not to continue, so nothing was connected.
- Step 1: Press Connect with Facebook again and go all the way through.
Facebook would not let the account connect
You see: Facebook did not let that account connect. Use the Facebook account that is an admin of your agency Page and approve every permission it asks for. If it keeps happening, email hello@listingmate.com.au.
Why: Either a permission was declined, or Facebook itself refused that account.
- Step 1: Check you are logged in to Facebook as the person who is an admin of the agency Page. If Facebook logs you in as someone else, log out of Facebook in that browser first.
- Step 2: Press Connect with Facebook again and leave every permission ticked.
- Step 3: If you see the same message a second time, contact support. Tell us the name of the Page.
The account has no Pages
You see: That Facebook account doesn't manage any Pages. Use the account that admins your agency Page.
Why: The Facebook account you logged in with is not an admin of any Page, or you did not select your Page on Facebook's own screen.
- Step 1: Ask whoever set up the agency's Facebook Page to connect, or to make you an admin of the Page in Facebook.
- Step 2: If you are an admin, press Connect with Facebook again. On Facebook's screen that asks which Pages to share, select your agency Page.
The link back from Facebook had expired
You see: That connection link expired. Start again.
Why: Too long passed between pressing the button and finishing on Facebook, or the page was opened in a different browser.
- Step 1: Press Connect with Facebook again and finish in the same browser window.
Facebook did not finish
You see: Facebook didn't complete the connection. Try again.
Why: Facebook did not hand back what ListingMate needs. It is usually a brief fault at Facebook's end.
- Step 1: Wait a minute, then press Connect with Facebook again.
- Step 2: If it fails three times, contact support.
You were choosing a Page and it stopped
You see: Pending connection expired. Start again.
Why: The list of Pages is only kept for a short time after you come back from Facebook.
- Step 1: Press Connect with Facebook again and pick the Page straight away.
The Page you picked could not be used
You see: That Page is no longer available. Start again.
Why: The Page was not in the list Facebook gave ListingMate for this login.
- Step 1: Press Connect with Facebook again, and on Facebook's screen make sure the agency Page is selected.
The connection was made but could not be saved
You see: Couldn't save the connection. Try again.
Why: A fault at our end while storing the connection.
- Step 1: Press Connect with Facebook again.
- Step 2: If it happens twice, contact support.
