Start the posts for a listing that is already in ListingMate

A listing that came in from your website has no posts until you start them. One button drafts the lot for you to approve.

Listings that arrive by themselves from your website wait for you. Nothing is drafted until you say so, so a listing you do not want to promote never fills your approvals.

  1. Step 1: Open Listings. On a phone it is the fourth tab in the bottom bar.
  2. Step 2: Find the listing. One with nothing drafted shows No posts yet.
  3. Step 3: Under its card, press Start posts for this listing.
  4. Step 4: The button changes to Drafting the posts. This can take up to a minute. Leave the page open.
  5. Step 5: When it finishes you are told how many draft posts are waiting. Open Approvals to read them.

Note: Starting the posts only drafts them. Nothing is posted until you approve it.

The button is not there

  • The listing already has posts, or its posts were already started. Open the listing to see them.
  • The listing is not on the market. The button only shows for a listing that is coming soon or currently for sale or rent. A sold, leased or withdrawn listing does not get one.

Messages you might see

The listing has no photos

You see: This listing has no photos yet, posts can't publish to Facebook or Instagram without an image.

Why: Facebook and Instagram will not accept a post with no image, so ListingMate does not draft one.

  1. Step 1: Add photos to the listing on your website.
  2. Step 2: Wait for the next sync to bring the photos in, then press Start posts for this listing again.

The listing is not on the market

You see: This listing is not on the market, so there is nothing to post for it yet.

Why: It is marked sold, leased, withdrawn or off market.

  1. Step 1: If that is wrong, correct the listing's status where it comes from, then try again after the next sync.

The posts already exist

You see: This listing already has these posts waiting.

Why: The posts were drafted earlier, perhaps by a colleague.

  1. Step 1: Open Approvals and look for the listing's address.

Your free trial has ended

You see: Your 14 day trial has ended. Choose a plan on the Connections page to keep posting. Your listings and drafts are still here.

Why: Your free trial is over and you have not chosen a plan, so nothing can start.

  1. Step 1: Open Connections and scroll to Plan.
  2. Step 2: Press Choose Solo or Choose Agency. Your plan takes effect straight away and charges that day.

Your plan's campaigns are all in use

You see: Your plan covers 6 active campaigns and you have 6 running. Finish or skip the posts on one listing, or move to the Agency plan on the Connections page.

Why: The Solo plan runs up to 6 campaigns at once, and all 6 still have posts waiting or scheduled.

  1. Step 1: Open a listing whose campaign is nearly done and skip the posts you no longer want. A place frees once none of its posts are waiting or scheduled. Approving a post does not free the place until that post has gone out.
  2. Step 2: Or open Connections and move to the Agency plan, which has no limit.

It took too long

You see: That took longer than expected. Reload the page in a minute to see whether the posts were drafted before you try again.

Why: Drafting ran past the time the page will wait. It often finishes anyway.

  1. Step 1: Wait one minute.
  2. Step 2: Reload the page.
  3. Step 3: Only press the button again if the listing still shows No posts yet.

  1. Step 1: Contact support and tell us the email address you sign in with.

You were signed out

You see: You have been signed out. Sign in again, then press the button once more.

  1. Step 1: Sign in again.
  2. Step 2: Go back to Listings and press the button once more.
